Shepton Mallet Benefice Churches
To know Jesus and to make Him known
We are delighted that you are exploring marriage and interested in one of our Benefice churches -
St Peter and St Paul’s, St Aldhelms, or St Bartholomew’s for your wedding. Anyone who lives in the parish is entitled to be married in their parish church. You also have entitlement if you are a regular worshipper at the church and are on the Church Electoral Roll, or if your parental home is in the parish. If neither of you lives in the parish, it may still be possible for you to be married in one of our Benefice churches, so do speak to either our Administrator, Helen Bennett or to the Rector, Jonathan Hunter Dunn.
It may be that, rather than a wedding, you prefer to have a blessing in the church after a registry office marriage. This is also possible provided you live in the parish.
If you are seeking a wedding at St Peter & St Paul’s, the next step is to arrange a date and time to meet with the Rector to go over some preliminary questions. Once we’ve done this, assuming no issues arise, you’ll be able to begin to book a date and plan the day.
Weddings are always special and we shall all do our best to make your day wonderful. Please don’t hesitate to make contact if you have any questions.
